How do I get the balance in my head?

This report documents the perspectives of young people, youth workers and community leaders engaging with the Canal Communities youth services  in Dublin city in relation to the role of youth work in the lives of young people from ethnic minority communities. It is based on small-scale, exploratory, qualitative research whose principal aims were:

  • To identify some of the issues facing young people from ethnic minority communities, in particular first and second generation migrant young people, and to explore the relevance of these for youth work;
  • To examine the lessons that can be learnt from a community-based project dedicated to promoting the inclusion of ethnic minority young people in youth work.
